As in the previous years, this time too, the government website has been down with the publication of the plus two level results. This problem is repeated because the server of the government website cannot handle the heavy amount of traffic coming at once.

Although arrangements have been made to check the results online for the convenience of the students, the government website itself is not working. Not only Plus Two but whether it happens when the results of SEE come out or when the government budget is announced, it has become a normal situation for the government website to be down.
In this case, the students and other service users have to suffer unnecessarily when the website is not running. Most of the government websites in Nepal are hosted at the National Information Technology Center under the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. Ramesh Prasad Pokharel, information officer of the center, said that the website is down when viewing the results because it does not have the capacity to handle a lot of traffic coming at once. In a conversation, he said, “Results are posted on various online sites so that traffic can be shared.”
He argues that since these sites are not completely prepared for the publication of results, they cannot handle a lot of traffic coming at once and that is why they are down. “The Citizen App site has the potential to drive a lot of traffic. If the results are provided from there, there will be no such problem,” he further said. He informed that sites like National Examination Board, Nepal Telecom will be prepared in the usual way. As a result, the storage capacity of those sites is reduced and they are often down during such times of testing.
To get rid of this problem, Pokharel said that there is also an option to create a ‘multiple traffic sharing site’. “Based on the suggestionds received, we will focus on how to maintain the traffic balance from the next time, how to manage the traffic,” he added.
